Paresh Maity was born in Tamluk, West Bengal. He received his degree in B.A. from Govt. College for Arts & Crafts, Kolkata. He received his degree in M.A. from the college of Art in New Delhi. Paresh has has several solo exhibitions: He has exhibited at The British Museum, London and the Reubin Museum, New York. One of his most famous exhibitions was his representation of Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Shesh Lekha in watercolours, showcased at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi and Mumbai. One of Maity’s greatest accomplishments may be his most recent painting on display at the new terminal (T3) at Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi, at over 850 feet, is one of the longest in the world. Paresh Maity has been awarded the prestigious Padmashree by the Indian Government.
